The Starry Night in the Garden

This is one of the first projects I worked on at Carnegie Mellon. In our second sememster we had to take Sculpture I. The class included woodworking, welding and ceramics. For the welding rotation we were asked to create a piece that contained a collection. I had a collection of Starry Night items (from puzzels to paintings and a whole lot in between). So I created a Starry Night to hold my collection. After the semester was over it needed a new home, so that was the start of my Sculpture Garden. This sculpture has been repainted at about three points in its lifetime. I get alot of comments on this piece too, because you can see it from the road if you are heading down our hill.

The painting has been simplified a bit, and there were additional pieces that made up the town portion of the sculpture. I do plan on adding a lighting effect to the piece, so it can be enjoyed at night as well.
